History says that the first slot machine was created by American workman Charles Fey in 1887. Based in San Francisco, they were handmade and added to local little casinos in a covenant with possessors to have a 50% rental fee for their use. There is a wrong thought that slot machines in the 19th century were bigger than modern ones. In fact they have got approximately the same overall dimensions as slot machines today. One thing that is believed to be various is symbols. There were no fruit symbols on early slot machines, fruit symbols were applied at the beginning of the 20th century. Charles Fey has been a successful businessman who earned great deals of money on his invention. The very first machine was named the “Liberty Bell.”. The Charles Fay's invention influenced a lot all kinds of gambling industry because slot machine was a great invention.
The first big row of slot machines was manufactured when Charles Fay made a contract with Mills Novelty Company. Mills Liberty Bell had been the first machine of that merger. The first fruit image slot machine had been named Operator Bell. It was designed by Mills Company 3 years later. The drawback of early slot machines was that they were made of iron and it was not so easy to transport it from one place to another.
